Leach, Pvt. John T. (1921 - 4 December 1943)

Military funeral services for Pvt. John Leach were held at Grace Methodist Church Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. The Rev. Lee Holmes officiated and interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pvt. Leach, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Leach formerly of Greenwood, now of Neillsville, was killed in action in Italy on December 4, 1943. The body arrived in Greenwood, escorted from Chicago by Sgt. Martin of Rice Lake, on Wednesday evening and reposed at the Stabnow Funeral Home until Friday noon, when it was taken to (next part of obit was missing), Carl Gordee, Lawrence Jackson, Frank Petkovsek, Harry Wallis, Robert Carl, Leo Wehrman and john Speich, (Color Guard) were Robert Vesel, Victor Perman, Al Klinke, and Cletus Susa. (Bugler) Herbert Schwarze, Robert Johnson and George Hare folded the flag which draped the casket and presented it to the mother, Mrs. Leach.
