Beyer, Julia A. (19 Apr. 1875 - 27 Oct. 1956)

Mrs. Martin Beyer of Unity, Wisconsin died at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen Saturday at the age of 81 years. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby Tuesday morning, Rev. Joachim Orlowski officiating, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mrs. Beyer was born Julia A. Winkler, on April 19, 1875, in Germany, came to the United States with her parents in 1879. They settled two and one-half miles south of Unity on the farm where Mrs. Beyer spent the rest of her life, with the exception of a year in Stevens Point, four in Colby and the last few months in Owen. She suffered a stroke in June and was admitted to the nursing home August 4. She was a member of St. Mary’s church and the Christian Mothers’ Society.

Surviving are her husband, Martin, whom she married February 5, 1894, at Stevens Point, three children, Mrs. Julia Justman of Minneapolis, Mrs. George (Barbara) Speich of Greenwood and John, at home, two brothers, Joseph Winkler of Marshfield and John Winkler of Redondo, Calif., five grand children and eight great grand children. A brother and a sister preceded her in death.
