Amborne, Virginia (7 NOV 1942)

The Methodist church was the scene of a very pretty candlelight wedding ceremony Saturday night, Nov. 7, when at 7:30 o’clock, Vernon Catlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perl Catlin of this village, took for his wife Miss Virginia Amborne, daughter of William Amborne of Merrill. The Rev. Myron F. Taylor performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of relatives and friends.

Preceding the ceremony, Miss Gladys Fenner, accompanied at the piano by Miss LaVonne Smith sang "Oh Promise Me," and Miss Smith played the wedding march.

The bride attired in a Kelly green dress, wore a hat and copper accessories. Her attendant, Miss Alice Kanitz, Merrill, wore a copper colored two piece dress and green accessories. Both had shoulder corsages of pompoms. The groom’s attendant was his brother, Melford Catlin, of Eau Claire.

A wedding dinner followed at the home of the groom’s parents.

Mrs. Catlin, a graduate of Merrill high school, is employed at the Marinello beauty shop in Merrill. "Verne" who graduated from the Loyal high school with the class of ’39, is a salesman at the Gamble store in that city.

Out of town guests at the wedding included Misses Genevieve Amborne, Lillian Parent, Veronica Cuuginski, Alvina Benson and Jane Kollmer, all of Merrill; Mr. and Mrs. Melford Catlin and family of Eau Claire, and Marion Catlin and Ralph Hansen, both of Wisconsin Rapids.

Mr. and Mrs. Catlin will live in Merrill, where they will be at home to friends after Nov. 15.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the newlyweds its best wishes for a happy wedded life.
