Schlinkert, Edna (Marriage - 27 April 1946)

Miss Edna Schlinkert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schlinkert, Neillsville route 3, and Earle Lichter of Chicago, were married Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe. The Rev. Adolph Schumann performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride’s gown was Hollywood styled with a white satin waist, and a full skirt of silk marquisette, with a long train. She wore a circular fingertip veil, edged with wide lace. Her bouquet was of white carnations, with ribbon streamers.

Miss Elaine Geise, cousin of the groom, was maid of honor. Mrs. Victor Schlinkert, sister-in-law of the bride, was bridesmaid. The groom’s attendants were his brother, Roy Lichter, Chicago, and Victor Schlinkert, the bride’s brother.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for 65 guests.

The bride has been employed in Chicago for the past five and one-half years. The groom has received his army discharge after five years of service, and will be employed in Chicago, where the couple will live after May 2.

Out-of-town guests present at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Edridge Lichter, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lichter and son Roland, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Art Lichter and son, Bensenville, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Art Geise and Daughter Elaine, Chicago; Mrs. Carl Ehlert of Wausau.
