Zickert, Arlene (6 SEP 1947)

Miss Arlene Zickert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zickert of route 3, Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Cornell Moen, Jr., son of Mrs. Aline Stillwell of Neillsville, in a ceremony performed Saturday afternoon, Sept. 6, 1947, at the parsonage of St. John’s Lutheran Church, by the pastor, the Rev. William A. Baumann. The singe ring service was read in the presence of a few close relatives. The groom’s mother and the bride’s father were the attendants.

The bride chose for her wedding a blue grey suit with black accessories. Her jewelry consisted of a pin and earrings to match.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for 75 guests, and supper was served at 6 o’clock. Centering the bride’s table was a three-tiered wedding cake, all in white. In the evening a wedding dance and coin shower was held at the Weston town hall.

Since her graduation from the Neillsville High School in 1943, the bride has been employed at Becker’s Café. The groom served in the Seabees two years and since his discharge has been employed in Neillsville. At present the young couple are at the home of the bride’s parents. They plan to leave soon for Milwaukee, where the groom will have employment.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Halle, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Pinno, Rosendale; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wagoner, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Schoenherr and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bouchardt, Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Belter, son, Walter, and daughter, Iola, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Quast and family, Greenwood; Miss Betty Ann Wildish and Mrs. Lester Zasoba, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
