Schnabel, Ilene (23 June 1946)

At the Zion American Lutheran Church at Granton Sunday, June 23, Miss Ilene Schnabel became the bride of Alvin Scharf. The Rev. Leonard Domke officiated.

The bride wore a gown of white satin, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, and a full net skirt that ended in a train. Her fingertip veil of illusion bordered with lace was held by a beaded headdress. A three-strand pearl necklace, a gift of the groom, was her only jewelry. She carried a bouquet of American Beauty and white roses.

Miss Norma Bartz served as maid of honor, and Mrs. Henry Winkler was the bridesmaid. Attendants for the groom were his brother, Clarence Scharf, who recently received his discharge from the navy, and Henry Winkler.

Garden flowers were used for church decorations.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Herman Scharf home for 50 guests.

Out-of-town guests present were: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Scheeler and family, Cazenovia; Mrs. Edna Janke, Don and Florence, Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Pietryak and son, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Arne Konwicko and children of Marshfield.
