Hewitt, Harriet J. (15 MAR 1947)

The marriage of Miss Harriet June Hewitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David W. Hewitt of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Clarence A. Roessler of Kalamazoo, son of Otto Roessler of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), took place on Saturday afternoon, March 15, 1947, at the First Presbyterian Church in Kalamazoo. The Rev. Paul Silas Heath officiated in the presence of 35 guests.

The bride was attired in a floor-length white Juliet dress, styled with an embroidery yoke and matching cap. Her illusion veil was waist length and her flowers were an arm bouquet of Easter lilies. Her attendant, Miss Marjorie Lum, wore a blue Juliet dress fashioned with matching cap. Dr. Robert L. Roessler of Madison, brother of the groom, was best man.

A luncheon was served at the reception which followed the ceremony. Hostesses were Mrs. Florence Phillips and Mrs. Ruby Young, sisters of the bride.

Upon their return from a wedding trip, the young couple will reside at 836 West North St. in Kalamazoo.

Mrs. Roessler, a graduate of Western Michigan College, taught at Kellogg Agricultural School for several years and is now employed by the Upjohn Co. Mr. Roessler, a former Neillsville boy, is a graduate of the local high school and the University of Michigan School of Architecture, where he was a member of Alpha Rho Chi Fraternity. He served 39 months in the navy as a lieutenant and is now employed by the Kingscott Company.
