Steinle, France M. (18 JAN 1947)

Miss Frances Marie Steinle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Steinle, of route 1, Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), and Kenneth Duane Short, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Short of route 4, Neillsville, were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony, Saturday, Jan. 18, 1947, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. The ceremony was performed at St. John’s Lutheran Church by Rev. William A. Baumann, pastor. The church was decorated with white and pink carnations and white pompoms.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown, and had a fingertip veil worn with a pearl headpiece. Miss Betty Schwemmer of Milwaukee, was maid of honor and Miss Dolores Herbel of Neillsville, was bridesmaid. The maid of honor wore blue and the bridesmaid wore pink. The bride’s flowers were white carnations and pompoms. Roger Short and Frank Rizner of Neillsville were the groom’s attendants.

A reception for 32 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents, the house being decorated for the occasion with white and pink carnations and white pompoms. A dance was given in the evening at the Armory.

The bride was graduated from high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The groom is a graduate of the Neillsville High School. He is employed at the Weidenhoff plant. For the present they will reside with the bride’s parents. They are expected home the last of this week from a wedding trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Guests from away who were her for the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Rinehart Schwemmer and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Schwemmer, Milwaukee, uncles and aunts of the bride; Mrs. Raynor Vaughan of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Matousek and family, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Murarik, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mrs. Vaughan and Mrs. Matousek are sisters of the groom.
