Short, Doreen (28 DEC 1946)

At a single ring ceremony performed at the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) by the Rev. N. J. Dechant, Saturday, Dec. 28, 1946, at 4 p.m., Doreen Short, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short of the town of Washburn, became the bride of Donald Stewart, whose parents reside at Verona, Wis. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Patrick of Neillsville, close friends of the bride.

Mrs. Stewart chose for her wedding a gray wool dress with black accessories and her flowers were a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Patrick wore a wine colored velvet dress with brown accessories and wore a corsage of white carnations.

Mrs. Stewart graduated from the Neillsville High School with the class of 1941 and in 1945 she was graduated from Central State Teachers’ College in Stevens Point. She has been employed as the home economics instructor in the Verona High School the past two years.

Mr. Stewart was graduated from the Verona High School and attended the University of Wisconsin before entering the service. He was discharged in April 1946, and is now attending business college in Madison.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents Sunday evening. Close friends and relatives were in attendance.

Mr. and Mrs. Stewart will reside in Verona.
