Volkman, William #2 (1868? - 27 JAN 1904)

With great grief the city (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.) heard Wednesday morning of the death of William Volkman, proprietor of the pop factory here, called by his many friends "Billy Pop," and "Billy." He died at 1:30 a.m., Jan. 27th, 1904, of dropsy and Bright’s disease at the home of John Rude, where he was boarding. His brother, who is in the pop business at Eau Claire, is here looking after the funeral arrangements.

He was about 35 years old.

Deceased was born near Gjovig, Norway, where his parents till reside, and to which place he made a pilgrimage last year. He has a sister and brother at Eau Claire, one brother at Minneapolis, and another out west. He was a very quiet and careful businessman, and everyone was his friend. Funeral arrangements have not been made in time to be reported here, but it is thought the interment will be at Eau Claire.
