Marth, Mathilda (? - 4 June 1946)

Mrs. Mathilda Marth, about 84, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday at her home on South Grand Avenue following a lingering illness. Definite plans for the funeral are being held, pending word from a relative who lives in Texas. However, the services have been temporarily set for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home and 2 p.m. from St. John’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Wm. A. Baumann will officiate, and burial will be mad in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Marth, Mathilda (25 October 1862 - 4 June 1946)

Funeral services for Mrs. Mathilda Marth, 83, were held Saturday, June 8, (1946), at the Georgas Funeral Home and St. John’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Wm. A. Baumann officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville Cemetery. She died June 4, (1946) at her home on South Grand Avenue.

Mathilda Marth, nee Dettman, was born October 25, 1862, in Germany. She was married to Henry Marth, who preceded her in death, as did their two sons, Alfred and William.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. William Marth, Laredo, Tex., who was unable to attend the funeral.

Pallbearers were: Otto Zaeske, Bob Wagner, Henry Bartell, Jim Fradette, Walter Borde and Frank Hemp.

Those from out-of-town attending the services included Miss Alma Marth, Mrs. Henry Keller and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Carl of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
