Arthur Pilsner

Arthur M. Pilsner, 78, of Neillsville, formerly of Marshfield, Wisconsin, died Friday, June 20, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. A visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Hansen Funeral Home.

Arthur M. Pilsner, 78, of Neillsville, formerly of Marshfield, Wisconsin, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memory Garden. Military Honors will be conducted at the church by VFW Post 1866. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Hansen Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Arthur Martin Pilsner was born April 13, 1930, in Marshfield, a son of Frank G. and Elizabeth A. (Schulhauser) Pilsner. Mr. Pilsner attended Purdy School in Marshfield.

Art served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953 in the U.S. Army. He was united in holy marriage to Margeary Ann Prust on Dec. 15th, 1951, at Fort Jackson, S.C.

After Art's return to the United States, he began a career in the construction business. He owned and operated Arthur M. Pilsner's Construction and acted as a general contractor for numerous construction projects in the area.

Mr. Pilsner was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served as treasurer for many years. He was also a member of the Marshfield VFW and American legion posts, as well as the Marshfield Jaycees, Knights of Columbus and the St. Hubert's Society. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, numerous sports activities and especially woodworking, which he shared his knowledge of with his sons.

Arthur is lovingly survived by three sons, Roger (Gail) Pilsner of Prentice, Allen (Dolly) Pilsner of Marshfield and Bernie (Judy) Pilsner of Neillsville; six grandchildren and five-great grandchildren.

He is further survived by two brothers, Victor (Delores) Pilsner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Robert (Mary) Pilsner of Delaware, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Marcella Pilsner of Marshfield.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Margeary, on April 3, 2007, and three brothers, Gary, Arnold and Edward Pilsner.
