Cherokee - Nov. 16, 1916

The A.S. of E. will have its meeting Saturday night.

Miss Mary Sazama is working for Mrs. Olson this week.

Fred Olson took another load of lumber to town with the engine.

Morgan Dawson and Henry Aderhold left for Jump River, where they will spend some time hunting.

Mr. Sam Yelke, of the town of Frankfort, and Miss Wucherpfennig, of the town of Wein, were married Wednesday afternoon.

Peter Boehler has been visiting friends at Cherokee, this week, having decided not to underbrush any more this year.

The Harry O. Brown Show which played here last week gave some first class performances. On account of the bad roads the crowd was not large, but those that did attend were well satisfied.

Charles Hanne and Jean Thiel have started to saw logs for Fred Olson. Tuesday morning their bachelor quarters became too cold so they took the trail for Cherokee, where they soon got warmed up.

The Ladies voting contest in which a leather pillow top was given away, was won by Mrs. Otto Baumgart. The contest was very close, Mrs. Baumgart winning from Mrs. Heintz by one vote.
