Stone, Jennie (31 July 1860 - 30 June 1945)

Mrs. Jennie Stone, 84, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theodore E. Schmidt, 236 South Hewett street. She suffered a broken hip in January. Recently she fell again, breaking her arm, and on Saturday suffered a stroke.

Prayer was offered at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, by the Rev. G. W. Longenecker, at Lowe’s funeral home. Funeral services were conducted at Tomah later in the afternoon. Burial took place in Lakewood cemetery, Minneapolis.

Jennie Kearney was born on July 31, 1860, at Hamilton, Minn. Her early life was spent there and she received her education in Minneapolis. There she was married April 26, 1882, to Arthur Charles Stone and went to live in Tomah. After the death of her husband she lived with a sister in Minneapolis. Four years ago, she made her home with her daughter in Neillsville.

Mrs. Stone was a member of the Methodist church and a charter member of the Lady Maccabees of Tomah. Surviving besides her daughter are two granddaughters, Mrs. Alice May Wagner of Madison and Mrs. Carl Cahill of Lincoln Park, N.J., and two great grandchildren, Carol and Teddy Cahill. Two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Sparrow and Mrs. John H. Rich, Minneapolis, also survive. Three sisters preceded her in death.
