Oliver, Thelma (Marriage - 4 Aug. 1945)

A very distinctive wedding took place at the John Ehlers farm Saturday, August 4, when Miss Thelma Oliver, daughter of Mrs. Edna Oliver of Neillsville, became the bride of Eugene Ehlers, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ehlers of Neillsville. The wedding ceremony took place on the lawn of the farm home where about 60 guests had assembled. Rev. G. W. Longenecker read the ceremony.

The bride chose as her wedding gown, one styled of white net over white satin. She wore a finger-tip veil which was held in place by a headdress of orange blossoms. Her only jewelry was a string of mother-of-pearls and earrings to match. She carried an arm bouquet of gladioli and roses. The bride’s matron of honor was her niece, Mrs. Raymond Jones, Jr., and the groom was attended by Ernest Begley.

The guests who attended were only close relatives of the bride and groom. A bounteous dinner was served.

Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Meyers of Milwaukee; Mrs. Oliver Pope and Mrs. Raymond Jones, Sr., of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. William Ehlers of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hogue of Merrillan.
