Gustafson, Rueben (3 APR 1897 - 31 JAN 1945)

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at two o’clock from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) for Reuben Gustafson, 47, residing three miles east of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), whose death occurred at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Wednesday. He had been a sufferer fro some time with a heart ailment. Services will be in charge of Rev. Matthews, and burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.

Funeral services for Rueben Gustafson were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin), the Rev. Matthews officiating, with burial taking place in Riverside Cemetery.

He was born at Sherwood, Ill., April 3, 1897, where he lived until the age of 12 years. At that time he moved with his parents to Owen, and settled on the farm where he has since made his home. He received his early education in the Bee Hive School, town of Green Grove. After which he devoted his time working on the farm until he entered the service in 1918.

After receiving his honorable discharge from the service he returned to Owen, and again took up his residence on the home farm. He devoted his energies to arm work until he became ill and could not continue with his work.

He passed away at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital Wednesday, Jan. 31st, 1945 at the age of 47 years, 10 months and 3 days. He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to mourn two daughters, Eleanor and Marion, two brothers, Hilmer and Ebner, and one sister, Mrs. John Prepeluh.
