Patchak, Charlotte (30 NOV 1946)

On Saturday, Nov. 30, 1946 at two o’clock at St. Hedwig’s Church, Webster and Hoyne, Chicago, Ill., a pretty wedding was observed when the marriage of Miss Charlotte Patchak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Patchak of Cadott, Wis., and William Pyzyna, son of Mrs. Catherine Pyzyna of Chicago, was solemnized by Rev. John J. Wojcik.

The bride, who proceeded down the carpeted aisle with her father, selected the traditional white satin for her gown. It was styled with a Turner neckline, long sleeves pointed at the wrist and a full flared skirt with a wide sweep. Her headdress was a beaded tiara from which fell a fingertip veil edged with lace. She carried a bouquet of white carnations set off with orchids.

For her bridesmaids she chose her sisters, Mae and Cecelia, who wore satin formals of maize and soft green, respectively. They had full over net skirts, a long torso and a Turner neckline. They wore gauntlets to match; also heart shaped lockets, gifts of the bride. In their hair were bandeaus of bronze baby mums and they carried bouquets of bronze chrysanthemums and ferns.

Attending as best man was Zygmund Florczak, a friend of the groom, and Mitchell Pyzyna, a cousin. They and the groom, who entered the church with his mother, wore tuxedos with carnations.

The bride’s mother, who was ushered by the best man, witnessed her daughter’s marriage in a brown suit. The groom’s mother wore a gray crepe dress. Their identical corsages were of pink carnations.

A reception was held at the Happ Village Hall in the evening. Dinner was served to about 125 guests.

The newlyweds left on a honeymoon to Delavan, Wis. They expect to make their home in Chicago, where both are employed.

Out of town guests were: Mr. Louis Ciolkosz of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Patchak and children Jackie and Joan of Cadott; Miss Bonnie Vincent of Daggett, Mich.; Edward Staron of An Arbor, Mich.; Chet Ciolkosz of Winsted, Conn.; Edward Joswiak of Hatley, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Karowski, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Karowski, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Karowski, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Karowski, of Racine, Wis.
