Huls, George (1868 - 7 Mar. 1945)

George Huls, 75, died at St. Joseph’s hospital in Chippewa Falls on Wednesday afternoon, March 7. He was brought to the Thorp funeral home, where his body lay in state until Monday morning. It was then taken to the St. Bernard church, where the funeral was conducted by Father Muckerheide.

Mr. Huls was born in Holland and came to the United States at the age of two. He was married to Miss Annie Vandhy at Hollandtown, Wis., 53 years ago. They came to Thorp, where they lived on the farm for 42 years. He came to the village in 1918 to make his home, as his wife passed away in 1917. He has since lived with his children as he has been an invalid for 19 years, using a wheelchair for 13 years.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Huls were three sons and two daughters. They are: Henry Huls, Mrs. Van Loo, Mrs. John S. Bogumill, A. G. Huls and John Huls, who all live in Thorp. Besides he has 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His body was interred in St. Bernard cemetery in Thorp.
