Joseph G. Apfelbeck

COLBY -- Joseph G. Apfelbeck, 83, of Colby, died May 14, 2008, at Golden Living Center Three Oaks at Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby, Wis. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in the town of Colby with military honors.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements

Joseph was born Jan. 6, 1925, in Colby to Bernard and Bernadine (Hoffman) Apfelbeck. Later in life Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1948 until 1950. He was assigned to the 162nd Signal Core/Communication Command until his honorable discharge. He later joined the Army Reserve from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1954. He was a former farmhand and truck driver. He also worked on road construction and did woodworking.

Joe is survived by his brother, Dale (Jean) Apfelbeck of Lublin, and many nieces and nephews in Wisconsin, Indiana and Tennessee.
