I am the grand-daughter of Ethel Sisco and Turon Harper, Senior.

My father was Turon Harper, Junior.

I am trying to trace my Indian heritage.

Ethel Sisco was Indian, I believe from the Winnebago tribe. I believe her mother's name was Ida Larabie.

There is a connection with a Sisco male. I do not know which one. She was to have shared ownership with him of a trading post type store which is now a five and dime type store in Fondulac Lake near the lake. They shared ownership for forty three years. There Should be a deed or title on file in fond du lac which would prove ownership or have a connection to the male Indian Sisco. I need this to show connection to show ancestor connection. There is also a Muskogee County census from 1912 that was transcribed. The earlier (handwritten) census showed the name of Sisco handwritten transcribed differently. I believe as Simco. Ethel Sisco had a very dark complexion. I believe she was mis-marked as black in the census. Simco - black rather than Sisco - Indian. This is what I have discovered so far.

I have a spiritual connection as well. My son was very ill near death. I had a dream and with the use of a dream catcher, I was given the answer to my son's health problem and was able to alert the Dr's to my son's illness and save his life. Another reason I feel it is important that I establish my relationship with the Winnebego/Ho-Chunk Nation.

If you can help me make any further connections please E-Mail me. Thank you Ranita Harper Simnick
