Ocieczek, George (13 OCT 1876 - 24 AUG 1946)

Last rites were conducted by Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock Tuesday morning for George Ocieczak, who passed away at his home in the Town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.) on Aug. 24, 1946, death being cause by cancer of the liver. He had reached the age of 69 years, 10 months and 11 days. Mr. Ocieczak was born in Poland on Oct. 13, 1876. He was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.

Ocieczek, George (13 OCT 1876 - 24 AUG 1946)

George Ocieczek was born in Poland on Oct. 13, 1876, and passed away at Withee, Clark Co., Wis., on Aug. 24th, 1946, after a lingering illness. He had reached the age of 69 years.

Coming to America on June 15, 1900, he was united in marriage to Katherine Bucek in New York on Aug. 14, 1904. They located in the Thorp vicinity in May 1914.

Besides his widow he is survived by five daughters, (Sally) Mrs. Everett Eppers, Withee, (Mary) Mrs. Geo. Bratko, (Stella) Mrs. Walter Kozenczak, of Chicago, (Rose) Mrs. Elwood LeDuc, Eau Claire and (Helen) Mrs. George Gruber of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church here on Tuesday, Aug. 27th, Rev. Francis Piekarski officiating, and interment taking place in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were John Tomkowiak, L. Bogumill, Martin Tomkowiak, Anton Baldeschwiler, James Devine and Martin Haas.
