Griep, Clara (Marriage - 20 June 1944)

The Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids, was the scene of the wedding of Miss Clara Griep, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Griep, formerly of Neillsville, and now residing in Dixon, Ill., and Wilmer Ullman, formerly of Neillsville, who is now living in Wisconsin Rapids. The ceremony was read by the Rev. E. Kuechle on June 20; at 2 p.m. Baskets of flowers and jasmine decorated the altar. Miss Caroline Lindow sang "O Perfect Love" and "Oh Promise Me."

The bride was given in marriage by her father. For her wedding the bride chose a gown of white brocaded marquisette over taffeta with a finger tip veil of illusion. She carried a shower bouquet of roses and sweet peas.

Mrs. Kermit Sommers, sister of the groom, Wisconsin Rapids, as matron of honor, wore a pink dress styled like the bride’s. She wore a matching tiara and her flowers were also roses and sweet peas. The groom was attended by Myrtle Hales, cousin of the bride, Loyal.

Thirty guests were entertained at a 5:30 o’clock supper served after the ceremony at the Paper Inn. Also, a lawn party was held at the home of the groom’s mother.

Mrs. Ullmann was graduated from the Neillsville High School with the class of 1939, and has recently been employed at the Paper Inn, Wisconsin Rapids. The groom graduated from Neillsville with the class of 1940, received his honorable discharge from the army a few months ago, and is now a student at the University of Wisconsin.

As her going away outfit the bride wore a grey printed two piece ensembles with white and black accessories. The couple made a short wedding trip to Manitowoc and are now at home to their friends in Madison.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Griep, parents of the bride, and Doris, Bonnie, and Donald Griep, all of Dixon, Ill., attended the wedding.
