Olson, Serina Betima (7 Mar. 1916 - 6 Aug. 1944)

Funeral services for Mrs. Serina Betima Olson, 31, who died August 6 at Mt. Washington Sanatorium, were held August 9 in Greenwood. The Rev. A. E. Norson officiated. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

During the service Mrs. Albert Dahl and Mrs. Louis Behrens sang, "Sometime We’ll Understand," and "Nearer, Still Nearer." They were accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Minerva Hegenbarth.

Pallbearers were all friends from Merrillan. Shirley Syth, Doris Henchen, Ruth Severson and Patricia Syth were flower girls.

Serina Betima Olson, 31, nee Minsaas, was born in the town of Beaver, March 7, 1913, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Minsaas. She as baptized at Trondheim Lutheran Church by the Rev. J. C. Hougum and was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Mt. Washington Sanatorium in Eau Claire.

On October 24, 1936, she was married to Lloyd Olson of Merrillan. She passed away at Mt. Washington Sanatorium August 6, 1944, after a prolonged illness.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, her mother, Mrs. John Minsaas of Greenwood; three brothers, Mairo of Greenwood, Julius of Owen, and Paul of the town of Easton, five sisters, Ida (Mrs. Frank Tetzlaff) of La Croose; Inga (Mrs. Palmer Nelson) of Canton, S. D.; Agnes (Mrs. Clarence Henchen) of Globe, Mathea (Mrs. William Hanson) of Neillsville; and Laura (Mrs. John Bostwick) of Fargo, N. D.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Minsaas, and a sister, Anna.
