Peleschak, Katherine (9 JUN 1946)

Miss Katherine Peleschak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Peleschak of Lublin, became the bride of Marvin S. Piwoni, son of Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Piwoni of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), in a ceremony performed by Michael Maletick of St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church at Lublin on Sunday morning, June 9th, 1946 at 11:00 a.m.

The couple was attended by John L. Piwoni, brother of the groom, and Mary Peleschak, sister of the bride. The latter wore a dress of white net over taffeta with matching blusher.

The bride was beautifully attired in a white brocaded gown of marquisette over satin with long sleeves which came to a point at the wrists, a sweetheart neckline and tight bodice with full skirt ending in a long train. Her long illusion veil edged with lace fell from a crown of seed pearls and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of white gardenias and carnations with white streamers. Her jewelry was a gold pearl faced locket, a gift of the groom.

Other attending couples were Nick Peleschak, bride’s brother, and Margie Piwoni, sister of the groom, Steve Sweda, cousin of the bride, and Delores Dombrowski, cousin of the groom. The bridesmaids were dressed in white net over taffeta with blushers to match. The groom and his attendants wore black tuxedos with white boutonnieres.

The mother of the bride was attired in a light green gown and the groom’s mother in light grey. Both ladies wore corsages of red roses and white carnations.

Little Faye Winger served as flower girl with a basket of red and white carnations and Wm. Skrypek, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

A reception was held after the ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents, , where dinner and supper was served to about 800 guests. Dance music was furnished by Matt Peleschak and Joe Legengra of Chicago.

The newlyweds will reside in Thorp, where the groom is employed by the Blue Moon Foods, Inc., and the bride at the Papierniak Dept. Store.
