Schlegelmilch, Lillian Bertha (Marriage - 4 June 1944)

The marriage of Miss Lillian Schlegelmilch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schlegelmilch, Neillsville, and William Turner, of Milwaukee, was solemnized on Sunday, June 4, at 2 p.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The double ring service was read by the Rev. William A. Baumann, pastor of the church.

The bride wore a white floor length dress and a finger tip veil, and carried an arm bouquet of white carnations, pink roses and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaids, Miss Mildred Schlegelmilch, Milwaukee, sister of the bride, wore a pink floor length dress. The maid of honor, Miss Louise Ruich, Medford, wore a floor-length dress of blue. Both attendants carried pink carnations.

The groom was attended by Albert Zank, Owen, and Norbert Schlegelmilch, Neillsville, brother of the bride.

A reception was held in the afternoon and evening at the home of the bride’s parents, Pleasant Ridge, where a weddings upper was served to relatives and close friends.

The bride was confirmed at St. John’s Church, and for several years has been employed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The groom resides in Milwaukee, where he is employed as a court reporter. They plan to make their home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Miss Esther Schlegelmilch, Milwaukee, a sister of the bride, was here for the wedding. A brother of the groom from Milwaukee was also present.

Lillian Bertha Schlegelmilch, Milwaukee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schlegelmilch, Neillsville, were married to William J. Turner, Milwaukee, son of George Turner, Hudson, Wis., at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, June 4. The Rev. William A. Baumann performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride’s gown of white faille was styled with princess lines, long pointed sleeves, and sweetheart neckline. A coronet of pearlize orange blossoms held her finger tip veil of white illusion edged with chattily lace. She wore a two-strand pearl necklace and carried a shower bouquet of pink roses, while carnations and lilies of the valley.

Miss Mildred Schlegelmilch, sister of the bride, who attended as maid of honor, was gowned in shell pink faille taffeta with fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline and full skirt.

The bridesmaid, Miss Louise Pudleiner, friend of the bride, was similarly attired in sweet heart blue. Both carried bouquets of pink carnations and wore carnations in their hair.

The bridegroom’s attendants were Norbert Schlegelmilch, brother of the bride, as best man, and Albert Zank, brother-in-law of the bride.

Dinner was served to 25 guests and a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. A three-tired wedding cake, decorated with bridal table, and bridal wreath and snowballs were used to decorate the church and home.

Out of town guests attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tuner, Lillian Ruesch, Esther and Mildred Schlegelmilch and Louise Pudleiner, all of Milwaukee; Cina Schulz, Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zank and children of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kasner and children of Arpin, and Anton Meihack, Neillsville.

After a short honeymoon trip to Hudson, Wis., and St. Paul, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Turner will make their home at Milwaukee, where the groom is employed.
