A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Thur Saturday morning at the Neillsville hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lawrence were pleasantly surprised Friday evening at their home in Neillsville when their three daughters dropped in to help them celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Francis Jacobson and children, Sherwood; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Vandeberg and children, Marshfield; and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Chase. A beautiful wedding cake, reading "Forthieth Anniversary," a contribution to the evening festivities, by Mrs. Vandeberg, decorated the table. Another daughter, Agnes, Mrs. Herman Karlan, resides at Monticello, but was unable to be present.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mortimer were callers at the Sarah Davis home Monday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Lawrence spent Friday evening at the Ernie Thur home.

An exceptionally large crowd despite the unfavorable weather attended the Ladies’ Aid at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nyle Benedict Thursday. Assisting Mrs. Benedict were Mrs. Herb Free and Mrs. Harmie Huntly.

Mr. and Mrs. Merton Davis drove to Wisconsin Rapids a week ago Sunday and took their little granddaughter, Charlotte Davis, home, who has been with them the past several weeks.
