Norbert Hoeser, 72, of Marshfield, formerly of Neillsville, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph's Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with a 7:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary service, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.

Norbert Francis Hoeser was born on Oct. 28, 1935, in the town of Grant, Clark County, the son of Frank and Rozinia (Ziglinski) Hoeser. Prior to marriage, he worked on the family farm and helped on the neighboring farms. He was united in marriage to Germaine "Gerri" Handrick on May 18, 1963, at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. Norb worked for many years at the Weyerhaeuser Door Company in Marshfield. He retired in 1991 due to ill health. They moved to Marshfield in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Germaine "Gerri" Hoeser; three sons, Greg "Purple" (Deann) Hoeser of Loyal, David (Lisa) Hoeser of Stevens Point, and Larry (Cindy) Hoeser of Neillsville; one daughter, Karen (Joe) Zastrow of West Concord; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Jean) Hoeser of Marshfield and Phil (Penny) Hoeser of Winona, Minn.; and three sisters, Gerrie Schultz of Neillsville, Jeanette (Buck) Spencer of Marshfield and Julie (Chuck) Krostag of Hobart, Ind.
