Meinhardt, Elmer E. #2 (6 MAY 1916 - 17 APR 2008)

Elmer E. Meinhardt, 91, Sheboygan Falls, formerly of the Greenwood-Owen area, died on Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Sunny Ridge Health Care and Rehab Center, Sheboygan Falls. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 21. at Wenig Funeral Home, Sheboygan Falls. The Rev. Brad Veenendaal officiated.

Elmer Earl Meinhardt was born on May 6, 1916, in the town of Warner, to Otto and Marie (nee Sundermeyer) Meinhardt. He was a 1944 graduate of Greenwood High School. He married Esther M. Kippenhan on Sept. 8, 1943, at Greenwood. She died on Aug. 25, 1989. In November 1994, he married Helen (nee Jensma) Wassink in Sheboygan Falls. He was a dairy farmer in Clark County. He later worked in Sheboygan Falls at Tecumseh Products for four years, then at Feldman Engineering for 10 years, before his retirement in 1981. He was a member of First Reformed Church, Sheboygan Falls.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, Allan (Mary) Meinhardt, Clintonville, and Douglas (Barbara) Meinhardt, Mosinee; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three stepchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Vera Meinhardt, Marshfield; and one brother, Harry (Irmgard) Meinhardt, Greenwood.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Esther; a daughter, Lois Horvat; and one brother, Clarence Meinhardt.
