Becken, Lucile (19 Jan. 1923 - 27 Mar. 1942)

Funeral services were conducted on Monday afternoon, March 30, at the Griebenow funeral parlors at Owen for Lucile Becken, age 19, who passed away at Chippewa Falls Northern Colony home on Friday, March 27. Rev. G. E. Borreson officiated and burial was made on the family lot in the Lutheran cemetery at Curtiss.

Lucile, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Becken of Hoard, was born at Owen on January 19, 1923. For the past five years she has been confined to the Northern Colony and while there she finished the eighth grade, took instruction, and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

She was ill only a short time and complications following an attack of flu was the cause of her death.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Becken of Hoard; one brother, Wesley, age 12, at home; two sisters, Jean Pawson of Chicago and Mrs. Joseph Potocnik Jr. of Hoard.

Those that came from away to attend the service were Miss Ellen Anderson, Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Thorvald Becken, River Falls.
