Howard, Sarah (3 APR 1875 - 9 SEP 1944)

Sarah LaGasse Howard, 69, passed away at her home in the village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 9, 1944, after a long illness. Funeral services took place at the Thorp Funeral Home, Wednesday afternoon. An obituary will be published next week.

Sarah LaGasse Howard, 69, passed away at her home in the village on Sept. 9, 1944, after a long illness, being confined to bed the past year.

She was born at Odell, Sheboygan co., Wis., on April 3, 1875. At the age of 15 years she came to Thorp, residing here until 1933, and moving to Lancaster at that time, where she spent five years. She returned to Thorp in 1938 and resided here until death.

She is survived by three brothers, Jake LaGasse of Joplin, Mo., Dan LaGasse of Waldo, Ark., and Isaac LaGasse of Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Brintnall of Thorp and Mrs. Anna Parker of Heavaner, Okla.

Two brothers preceded her in death, Abraham several years ago and John in March 1943.

Funeral services were conducted by Mr. Noyes Matteson, Christian Science Reader, of Eau Claire, at the Thorp funeral Home at 2:00 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 13th and interment took place in the East Thorp Cemetery. Pallbearers were Albert Childs, M.C. Boardman, Leon Bogumill, Eugene Brunner, Art Olson and Wm. J. Klouda.
