Persak, Mary (29 OCT 1858 - 2 OCT 1944)

Funeral services were conducted by Father F. Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church, Thursday morning at 10:00 o’clock for Mrs. Mary Persak, 76, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Julia Slupski in the village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) on Monday, Oct. 2nd, 1944.

Mary Mocadlo was born in Poland on Oct. 29, 1858. She came to America in 1884 and resided in New Jersey and Minneapolis before coming to Thorp. She and her husband and family lived on farms east and north of Thorp for many years. She had been with her daughter since Sept. 9th of this year.

Surviving are six sons, Stanley and Walter of Gilman, Wis., Leo of West Allis, Tom of Chicago, Anthony, PO2c, in Navy hospital, Seattle, Wash., and Frank of thorp; one daughter, Mrs. Julia Slupski of Thorp; one sister, Mrs. Chas. Strzok of thorp; one brother, Mike Mocadlo of Thorp, twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers were: John Wojcki, Frank Swienton, Frank Wilcenski, John Kozlowski, Andrew Strzok and Ted Stroinski.
