Matter, Orval (30 Mar. 1915 - 13 Dec. 1970)

Spencer, Wis. - Orval Matter, 55, of Spencer, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wis. at 3:15 p.m. Sunday after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church here with burial in West Spencer cemetery. The Rev. William Ruhbusch, pastor, will officiate.

Visitations may be made at the Jasperson Funeral Home in Spencer from Tuesday noon until Wednesday noon and then at the church.

Mr. Matter was born March 30, 1915 in Spencer, where he received his education. He had been an employee of Pathfinder Mobile Homes the past 15 years. His marriage took place Oct. 18, 1945 in McMillan to Violet Walti. The couple lived on a farm north of Spencer.

Mr. Matter was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Barbara Matter, a junior at University of Wisconsin in Madison, and Brenda, at home; a son, James, a Staff Sergeant serving with the U.S. Air Force, in Japan; a brother, Walter Matter, Spencer; and two sisters, Mrs. Lorence Greeler, Neillsville, and Mrs. Francis Schwocho, Wausau.
