Hoops, Esther Amelia (1 June 1900 - 27 Jan. 1990)

Spencer, Wis. - Esther Amelia Hoops, 89, Spencer, Wisconsin, died at 9 a.m., Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer.

Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery, with the Rev. William Ruhbusch officiating.

Mrs. Daniel Schwantes will be the organist. Music will be provided by Roger Anderson II and Michael Ruhbusch.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Rux Funeral Home, Spencer.

She was born June 1, 1900, in the town of Spencer, to the late Charles and Anna Dittman. She was educated at the Sawyer School and was married to Ervin Hoops on Nov. 12, 1919.

They farmed in the town of Spencer and she worked at Simons Egg Plant.

The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1969.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the church choir, and the South Spencer Homemakers Club.

Her husband died on May 17, 1978.

Survivors include two sons, Lloyd of Spencer and James of Menomonee Falls; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
