Hoops, Elizabeth (17 May 1884 - 2 May 1964)

Spencer, Wis. - Mrs. Elizabeth Hoops, 79, Spencer, Wisconsin, died Saturday afternoon at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. W. R. Krueger will officiate, and burial will be made in the West Spencer cemetery. The body is reposing at the Jasperson Funeral Home.

The former Elizabeth Griepentrog was born May 17, 1884, in Spencer. She had lived her entire life in the Spencer area, except for the past 4 ½ years when she had resided at the Havenet Nursing Home. Her marriage to August Hoops, who preceded her in death, took place July 1, 1902, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer.

Mrs. Hoops was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Adela) Huber, and Mrs. Laura Wry, Spencer; two sons, Arthur Hoops, Green Bay; and Wilbur Hoops, Spencer; a sister, Mrs. Ida Schwantes, Marshfield; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers, and two sisters.
