LUBLIN -- Frances C. Zugier, 89, of Lublin, died Monday, April 7, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Thorp Funeral Home. Burial will follow in East Thorp Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Frances 'Fritz' Zugier

LUBLIN -- Frances "Fritz" Caroline Zugier, 89, of Lublin, died Monday, April 7, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Thorp Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in East Thorp Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary service, Friday at the funeral home. She was born April 2, 1919, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank and Mary (Sobolewski) Makowski. She married Alfred Zugier on Jan. 8, 1945, in Medford. They took over the operation of her mother's tavern and changed the name to Al & Fran's Farmers Tavern. They ran the business until retiring in the late 1990s. Alfred preceded Fran in death Jan. 12, 2000.

She is survived by six stepchildren, Connie (Clarence) Miller, Medford, Richard (Nonie) Zugier, Boyd, Linda Marchinek, Unity, Donna (Joe) Arvelo and Peggy (Mike) Radakovich, all of Milwaukee, and Roger (Mary) Hinze, Eau Claire; 15 step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
