Ewert, Emma Pauline (9 Sept. 1881 - 8 Sept. 1956)

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church for Mrs. Charles F. Ewert, 74, who died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield Saturday afternoon of a heart attack.

Rev. Vander Stoep officiated at the service during which the choir sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Face to Face" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Henry Binning. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Elmer Carlson, Frank Meyer, Fred Loughead, Wm. Siegrist, Gust Carlson and Lenard Nickel.

In charge of the flowers were Dora Ewert, Mrs. Donald Korntved, Mrs. Frank Meyer, Mrs. Elmer Carlson, Mrs. Martin Evenson, Mrs. Fred Loughead.

Mrs. Ewert, nee Emma Pauline Voth, was born Sept. 9, 1881 in the Town of Unity where she continued to reside for seven years after her marriage to Mr. Ewert on April 17, 1901, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, north Spencer. They then farmed in the Town of Brighton for 33 years, moving to Unity after their retirement.

Besides her husband, she is survived by five children, Mrs. George (Linda) Strohman, Marshfield; Mrs. Irene Lynn and Edwin, Wausau; Myron, Plymouth; and Walter at home, 2 sisters, Mrs. Alvina Wagner of St. Paul and Mrs. Anton Korntved, Unity; 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

A brother, Walter, and a sister, Mrs. Ida Korntved preceded her in death.

Here from away at the funeral were Mrs. Hulda Keith, Dayton, Ohio, Alvina Wagner, St. Paul, Mrs. Joe Brewer, Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Peters, Mishicott, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kolstad, Arpin; Mr. Lincoln Schoolman and Marlen, Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ewert, Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Abel, Park Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helmke, Park Falls, and many from Unity, Spencer, Riplinger and Colby, Wis.
