Anderson, Rudy L. (27 Nov. 1908 - 24 Aug. 1954)

This community was shocked Monday to hear of the sudden death at 7:30 that morning of Rudy L. Anderson, 45, Marshfield. He died of a heart ailment.

The body reposed at the Hansen Funeral Home in Marshfield until Wednesday noon when it was taken to the First Methodist Church, Marshfield, Wisconsin where funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Trobaugh at 2 p.m. Burial was made in Hillside cemetery in Marshfield.

Mr. Anderson was born in Spencer, November 27, 1908. He attended schools at Unity and later studied bookkeeping at a Wausau Business College.

On January 1, 1940 he was married to Merle Binning at the Unity Methodist Church.

After working in Milwaukee a time, Mr. Anderson engaged in general contracting and came to Marshfield to build the Hiway Motel in 1946, built the Anderson Apartments, and later built and operated a custard stand that he sold in 1951. The past two years he was co-owner of Central Trailer Sales of Marshfield.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Richard, 5, and a daughter, Lynn Ann, 11, at home; his mother, Mrs. John (Amelia) Anderson, Spencer; and three brothers, Maurice and Walter Anderson, Spencer and Torgany Anderson, Los Angeles, California.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 25 at the First Methodist Church, Marshfield, for Rudy Anderson, Marshfield, who died at his home the previous Monday morning. The Rev. Robert Trobaugh conducted the rites and burial was made in Hillside cemetery.

Pallbearers were Alfred Johnson, Victor Anderson, Oscar Carlson, George Carlson, Delmer Helsten, and Kenneth Helsten.

Mrs. Alfred Johnson, Mrs. Victor Anderson, Mrs. Roscoe Meacham, Mrs. Oscar Carlson and Mrs. Lester Binning were in charge of the flowers.

During the service, Mrs. Robert Cook and Mrs. Duane Allen sang "God’s Other Room" and "Nearer My God To Thee" accompanied by Mrs. Carroll Oein at the organ.

Attending the funeral from Unity were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Corwin Dallman, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ayer, Mrs. Vivian Justman, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Binning, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Binning, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Graham Thayer, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Binning, and Billie Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Binning, and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Binning.

From Spencer were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Anderson and daughter, Diana, Mrs. Amelia Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Anderson, Roger and Harold, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Meacham, Elmer Helsten and family, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Carlson and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Blair.
