Vogt, Luretta Ann (15 Aug. 1880 - 4 May 1952)

Luretta Ann Vogt, nee Brintnall, was born on a farm in the Town of Unity, Wisconsin, August 15, 1880 and died at the Wausau Memorial Hospital Saturday, May 4, 1952.

At the age of twelve she and her parents moved to the Village of Unity. She finished grade school and two years of high school.

She began teaching in September of 1896 and taught in the Clark County schools until 1904. She took her mother to Seattle, Washington in July of 1904.

On February 23, 1905 she was married to John Herman Vogt at Spokane, Washington. They returned and lived in the Village of Unity until the fall of 1908 when they moved to some wild land east of Unity, built buildings and made a nice home for themselves.

In 1916 Mr. Vogt was elected Marathon County Highway Commissioner and in 1916 Mrs. Vogt was joined him in Wausau. When he retired they moved back to a small house they built on the farm and which was sold last February.

She is survived by her husband, J. H. Vogt.

Services were held at Helkes Funeral Home in Wausau, on Tuesday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. Marvin Schilling officiating. Internment was in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.

Mrs. Rodney Fuller sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Abide With Me" during the services.

Pallbearers were Herbert Hamann, A. G. Anderson, and L. C. Schuetz of Wausau and Edward Hartl, Richard Fischer and Donald Fischer of Unity.

Out-of-town friends attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Binning, Mrs. Nyole Creed, Mrs. Henry Binning, Mrs. Karl Willecke, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fischer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McNeight, Mr. Herman Kops, Mrs. Tom Loughead, Mrs. Rodney Fuller, Mr. Lloyd Taplin, Mrs. Ronnie Gage, Mr. O. W. Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. George Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Wiedenhoeft and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hartl.
