Edblom, Gail (Marriage - 16 May 1953)

On Saturday afternoon, May 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity, Miss Gail Edblom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Edblom, Unity, became the bride of Calvin Edmund Bombard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bombard, Loyal. The Rev. Claude Vander Stoep performed the ceremony at 2:30 o’clock.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Edblom of Unity, brother and sister-in-law of the bride and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Yaeger, Spencer, brother-in-law and sister of the groom, attended the couple.

During the service Miss Vernice Cramer sang "The Lord is My Shepherd" accompanied by Mrs. Henry Binning.

The bride was attired in a gown styled with a bodice of net and lace and a skirt of satin accented with a long train. A short veil fell from a beaded headdress and her bouquet was of calla lilies and red roses.

Mrs. Yaeger, as bridesmaid, wore a gown of dusty rose with a taffeta skirt beneath a lace and net bodice. Mrs. Edblom, matron of honor, wore an identical gown in green and each had a Juliet cap and mitts to match their dresses. Pink, yellow and white carnations formed their bouquets.

Alvin Edblom was best man; Fred Yaeger was groomsman and Dale Bombard, Loyal, a brother of the groom and Alfred Edblom, another brother of the bride, were ushers.

Corsages of red roses and white carnations added a touch of color to the ensembles worn by the mothers of the bridal pair.

A reception for 80 guests was held in the American Legion Hall at Unity following the ceremony.

After June 1 the young couple will reside on route 1, Loyal. At present they are on a honeymoon in Southern Wisconsin, Illinois and the Dakotas. Mrs. Bombard, who attended the Unity schools, is employed by the Dairy Belt Co. at Spencer, while her husband, a graduate of Spencer High School, is employed by the Adler Baking Co., Marshfield.

Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Felker and son and Mr. and Mrs. Geo Egnoski and son, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Alexander and daughter, Jean, Owen; and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lindekugel, Spencer.

The Register joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
