Hansen, Esther A. #2 (17 JAN 1910 - 14 MAR 2008)

Esther A. Hansen, 98, Marshfield, formerly of Loyal, died at Saint Joseph’s Hospital on Friday, March 14, 2008. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 19, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate and burial will follow in the Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Koepsell, Dan Drost, Terry Pack, Dave Reiter, Jordan Lindner and Tyler Abel.

Esther Alvina Guenther was born on Jan. 17, 1910, in Marshfield, to Henry and Anna (nee Detzel) Guenther. She was raised and received her education in the Stratford area. She married Lloyd G. Hansen at St, Luke’s Lutheran Church, Waukesha, on June 26, 1929. In 1954, they moved to Loyal where they owned the Gamble Hardware Store and later the Skogmos Store. After their retirement, they continued to live in Loyal. Her husband died on Jan. 19, 1990. Esther continued to live in Loyal until moving to Marshfield in 1999. In April 2005, she moved to Wells Nature View where she resided until her death.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its ladies aid, past president of the Loyal Senior Citizens, Past president of the Loyal Nutritional Program, and a member of the Beaver Center Homemakers. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and reading.

Survivors include her three children, Kenneth J, (Kay) Hansen, St. Germain, Donna J. (Herb) Langfeldt, Loyal, and Susan G. (Bruce) Gladh, Green Bay; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lydia Sigl, Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Bernice Holm and Bernita Bliesner; and one brother, Earl Guenther, .

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
