Lau, Marcella L. (Sally), (30 Sept. 1920 - 16 Mar. 2008

Marcella L. "Sally" Lau, 87, Marshfield, Wisconsin, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Palliative Care. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, at Rembs Funeral Home with the Rev. Donn Radde officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Rembs Funeral Home. Marcella was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Loyal to Otto and Ella (Mellenthin) Luther. In 1925, she moved to the town of McMillan, Marathon County, and lived there until her marriage to Hugo L. Lau on Feb. 14, 1942, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in the town of McMillan. She attended McMillan Grade School and graduated from McKinley High School in Marshfield in 1938. Sally worked a short time at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory prior to her marriage. They moved to the Stratford and Loyal areas where they farmed from 1942 to 1968 until moving back to Marshfield. Marcella worked at Karau's IGA until 1985. She retired and moved to Lake Holcombe and then returned to Marshfield. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking, playing the organ and piano and playing cards. Sally taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in the town of McMillan. Sally is survived by two sons, Roger (Bev) Lau of Mosinee and Ken (Martha) Lau of Marshfield; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
