Van Camp, James A. (31 JAN 1869 - 19 SEP 1941)

James A. VanCamp was born in Sheboygan, Wis., January 31, 1869. While still a boy he moved with his parents to Loyal and grew to manhood here.

In 1889 he was united in marriage to Linnie Waterbury of Loyal. To this union were born six children, Esther Fliegel of Medford, Oregon, Alton of Loretta, Sadie Thompson of Appleton, Eddie of Park Falls, Charlotte Koshoh of Park Falls, and Freeman who died in infancy.

His failing health made it necessary for him to leave his home in Draper and live with his children.

His death occurred September 19th at his home of his son Ed. after an illness of six months with cancer of the stomach, having reached the age of seventy-two years.

Funeral services were held at the funeral home in Park Falls and the body was laid to rest beside his wife who preceded him in death three and one-half years ago. Those who are left to mourn his death are his five children, ten grandchildren and a brother Charles of California, other relatives and friends.

Relatives from away who attended the funeral were Heath Mills, Miss Della Mills from Marshfield and Mrs. Zuege of Neillsville. His daughter Esther and her son from Medford, Oregon had driven to Park Falls and spent several weeks with him while he was in the hospital but had driven home about two weeks before his death.

Many in this community remember him when he had a blacksmith shop and will also remember the pieces he used to speak out at gatherings and in our homes. The family has the sympathy of their many friends.
