Herdrich, Matilda (30 AUG 1868 - 17 SEP 1941)

Friends and neighbors were saddened to hear of the passing of one of their long time associates, when at dawn Wednesday 5:00 A. M., Mrs. Charles Herdrich died of a heart ailment and complications at the age of 73 years.

Mrs. Herdrich, nee Matilda Paetow was born August 30, 1868 in Michigan. While an infant she moved to Sheboygan county, where she spent her childhood and girlhood life.

She was married to Charles Herdrich in Milwaukee, October 12, 1893, where they made their home for 7 years. Here they rejoiced and mourned their first baby girl, Norma Irene, who died in infancy.

In 1900 she came with her husband to Clark County and they purchased the farm where their son, Everett, now resides. In 1924, they retired to the village of Loyal where Mr. Herdrich preceded her in death April 20, 1931.

Mrs. Herdrich leaves to mourn her loss four children: Erma (Mrs. Fred Uhrig), Gladys (Mrs. George Rowley), Everett and Florence (Mrs. Victor Dietz). Ten grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Henry Vick, Mrs. Oscar Herdrich and Mrs. Ray Littlefield also survive.

The funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the home and at 2 o’clock at the M. E. Church in Loyal where Mrs. Herdrich was a member. Rev. Orlando Jewell officiated. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Loyal Cemetery.

The hymns were sung by Mrs. Calvin Prior with Miss Tedlund accompanist.

Pall bearers were O. W. Trindal, V. O. Kauffman, R. A. Prior, R. M. Pratt, Bob Wehling, and G. H. Kehrberg. Flower girls were Ellen Henseler, Gwendolyn Tucker, Jean, Maridean, and Lorna Mae Vick, and Margaret and Norma Herdrich.

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Uhrig and family, Calvary, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Victor Dietz, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Ray Littlefield, Sheboygan Falls, Wis., Mrs. Mary Bennick, Mr. and Mrs. F. DeSombre, Mr. Richard Gartmann, Mrs. Weinholdt and daughter, Vera, Sheboygan, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Eisentraut, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Drescher, Neillsville, Wis., and Miss Jean Vick, Wauwatosa, Wis.
