Filla, Eleanore (27 FEB 1944)

Eleanore Filla, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Filla of Kelso, Wash., became the bride of Cpl. Glenn Kolstad of Stanley, on Feb. 27, 1944. The double ring ceremony was read by Rev. John Midtlien in the parsonage of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Stanley.

The bride wore a gold suit with brown accessories and a corsage of camellias and rose buds. She also wore a heirloom pin that has been in the Kolstad family for over 200 years. The pin has been handed down to the oldest daughter in each generation.

The groom’s sister, Miss Viola Kolstad, was the bride’s only attendant. She wore a softly tailored gold dress with a corsage of daffodils and acacia. Mr. John Kolstad was best man for his brother.

Following the ceremony a reception dinner was held at the Hotel Royal for the wedding party and members of the immediate family. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. John Kolstad, Miss viola Kolstad, Mr. and Mrs. Art Solie and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Melcher, all of Stanley, and Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Soli of Thorp, and the bride and groom.

Cpl. Kolstad is in the army, stationed in Panama. He will return there at the end of his furlough. Mrs. Kolstad will live with her parents in Kelso for the duration.
