Emma Lapp (17 Aug 1874 – 15 Jun 1961)

Funeral services were held Saturday from Peace Evangelical church here for Mrs. Emma Lapp, 86, who died Thursday. The Rev. Fred W. Kollath, pastor, officiated at the final rites at 2 p.m. Miss Sharon Stubbs sang “Rock of Ages” and “Abide With Me,” Miss Olga Genrich was organist for the services and played accompaniment for the soloist.

Burial was in Peace church cemetery under the direction of a Spencer funeral home and pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased, John, James, Peter and Gene Lapp, Robert and Melvin Schumacher and Daniel Lewis.

Mrs. Lapp died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Warren Lewis in Spencer early Thursday morning.

Emma E. Weber was born at Kiel Aug, 17, 1874. She and Albert Lapp were married at Green Grove Oct. 5, 1893. After their marriage they bought a farm in the Town of Mayville and resided there until his death April 1, 1939. She remained on the farm until 1944 when she moved into the village and had resided here until last August when she went to live with her daughter at Spencer.

Surviving are two sons, Charles, on the home farm, Raymond of Spencer, and two daughters, Mrs. Warren (Cecelia) Lewis, Spencer, and Mrs. Peter (Goldy) Schumacher of this community, two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Haack, Lamberton, Minn., and Mrs. Fred Molle, Unity. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Coming to the funeral from away were Mr. and Mrs. Don Hedding, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ruge and daughter, Mrs. Ida Raadiz, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Free and Albert Fakes, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Trapp, Windom, Minn.; Alvin Trapp, all of Sanborn, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Fhaley, Hortonville; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Blue and daughter, Dale; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fakes, Portage; Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lapp, Belvedere, Ill.; and others form Owen, Westboro, Marshfield, Unity, Withee, Medford and Spencer.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Evangelical Peace Lutheran Church at Dorchester for Mrs. Emma Lapp, 86, who died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Warren Lewis. The Rev. Fred Kollath officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery (Dorchester Memorial North Cemetery).

Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Daniel Lewis, Eugene, Peter, James and John Lapp, Robert Schumaker, Melvin Schumaker.

Miss Sharon Stubs accompanied by Miss Olga Genrich, sang "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me."

Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Trapp, Windom, Minn.; Mrs. Roy Vogel, Sleepy Eye, Minn.; Mrs. Ray Haak. Lamberton, Minn.; Mrs. Lorraine Haak, Mrs. Arlene Vog, Mrs. Wilmer Trapp, Mrs. Alvin Trapp and Mrs. Rhinehart Weber, Sanborn, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Don Hedding, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Free, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ruge and daughter; Mrs. Ida Radditz and Mrs. Albert Fakes, Milwaukee; Mrs. Matt Urling, Westboro; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Blue and daughter, Dale; Mr. and Mrs. Christ Fhaley and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jensen, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brendt and children, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fakes, Portage; Mrs. Emma Schmidt, Unity; Mrs. Tillie Lapp, Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lapp, Belvidere, Ill.
