Vada Mae Collinson was born on Sept. 21, 1924, in Jacksonville, Ill., to George and Edith (nee Gruber) Collinson. She received her elementary education at Plum Grace School near Thomsen, Ill., and later attended high school in Plainfield, Ill., and Thomsen, Ill. After completing, Vada worked at the Green Giant Canning Co., and the National Sewing Machine Co., in Belvedere, Ill. She married Earl Falconer on Sept. 26, 1948, in Belvedede. They moved to Loyal in 1953, and farmed together for many years. Vada also worked her home for Karau’s Supermarket in Marshfield, and was a teacher;\’s aide for the Loyal Public School District until retiring for health reasons. In her spare time, Vada loved to read, crochet, collect dolls, listen to country music, and sing. She taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir, and helped with other church activities when ever possible. She also loved to travel to the western states, and especially to travel to Disneyworld in Florida and Branson, Mo. Vada cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her many friends. Until her health problems got bad, she loved going to the Senior Center and playing cards. Vada was always willing to help family and friends whenever needed. She was a member of the York Center United Methodist Church, the Sew-N-Sew Homemaker Club, and the Jolly Workers 4-H group.
