Kautzer, Keith L. (22 FEB 1936 - 6 MAR 2013)

Keith L. Kautzer, 77, Reedsburg, died on Wednesday, March 6 at St. Claire Hospice House in Baraboo, surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, March 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in LaValle, with Father Lorin Bowens officiating, and military rites conducted by the VFW Post 1916 of Reedsburg. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Reedsburg.

Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday, March 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

The Farber Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Keith Kautzer was born on February 22, 1936 in Medford to the late Elmer and Elnora (Green) Kautzer. He served in the United States Air Force for eight years.

He married Patricia Doyle, who survives, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg. He worked for Wick Building Systems and later operated C&J Insurance Agency until retirement.

He enjoyed flying, cooking on the grill, playing cards, golfing, good music, dancing, hunting, fishing, traveling out west, spending time in Arizona and Florida and telling jokes.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, Patricia, survivors include two children, Kitty (Randall Porter) Kautzer of Naperville, Ill., and Connie (Karl) Beth of Waunakee; four siblings, Marie Zittlow of Adams-Friendship, Josephine Loeffler and Sue (Charles) Mains, both of Medford, and Kenneth of Lancaster; four grandchildren; Ryan Pijanowski, Kaitlyn Pinajowski, Kevin Beth and Kristopher Beth; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
