Smith, George O. (08 OCT 1882 - 16 NOV 1941)

Final rites for George O. Smith of Owen will be read from the Sheller funeral home at Greenwood on Friday, Nov. 21, at two o’clock p.m.

Mr. Smith passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, at the General hospital at Madison, where he had been a patient for a week. However, he had been suffering from ill health for the past seven years and was cared for at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Behringer. Previous to his illness he had been employed at the condensery plant in this city for eight years before being forced to give up his work when taken ill.

George O. Smith was born in the town of Greenbush, Sheboygan county, on October 8, 1882. On December 18, 1906, he was united in marriage to Isabell Schmidt at Sheboygan. The couple were blessed with four children, Mrs. Clarence (Lorinda) Behringer, Owen; Fred A. Smith, Greenwood; and two children who preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his loss besides his wife and children, four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Frank Hoyt, of Antigo.
