Johnson, Emma Carolina (1845? - 26 JULY 1932)

FORMER ABBOTSFORD LADY DIES AT WAUTOMA

Mrs. Emma Carolina Johnson, aged 87 years, passed to her eternal home Tuesday, July 26, 1932, at the summer home of her daughter, Mrs. C. H. Peterson, located on Silver Lake near Wautoma, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Johnson came to Abbotsford July 10, 1885, from Sweden, and settled on a farm with her husband. Mr. Johnson came to America five years before and acquired the farm here of which the Abbotsford cemetery is now a part. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson resided on this farm the most of the time until Mr. Johnson’s death in 1913.

Mrs. Johnson was always ready to give and help, and all who knew her, young or old, loved her. She is gone but not forgotten.

Funeral services were held at the Peterson home at Silver Lake Thursday, July 28th, and the remains were taken to Oconomowoc, where they were laid at rest beside her husband, John Edward, in the La Belle cemetery near that city.

Friends in this community who knew the family extend kindest sympathy to those left to mourn.
