Case, George W. (25 Mar. 1860 - 6 Mar. 1950)

George W. Case passed away at the farm home of his son, two miles east of Colby, Monday morning at the age of 89 years, pneumonia being the cause of his death after an illness of only two days. He had been active up until the time of his illness. Burial will be made Thursday afternoon in the Byron cemetery, town of Byron, Fond du Lac county, Rev. M. W. Giese of Salem Evangelical church of Lomira officiating.

George W. Case was born in New York state March 25, 1860. He came to Wisconsin with his parents when six years of age and settled on a farm in the town of Byron, Fond du Lac county. He was married to Emma Pickering of Oakfield in 1896. His wife died October 9, 1923. He came to Colby in September, 1932, and has since resided on a farm two miles east of Colby, Wis.

Surviving are one son, Oscar Case, of Colby, three brothers and three sisters of Fond du Lac; one sister of Chicago. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Case was a man of excellent habits, fine moral character and sturdy constitution. He continued to be active in his accustomed pursuits till long past the age at which men ordinarily drop out of the ranks of workers. Like all early pioneers, he was a man of generous impulses and delighted in doing kind, neighborly deeds.
